Tipping is not compulsory in Bhutan. It is up to the individual to decide if the service is worth rewarding. Travelers are advised not to distribute pens, pencils, chocolates, etc., to children or to monks. That is frowned upon in Bhutanese culture.
Bhutan standard time (BST) is six hours ahead of GMT, and there is only one zone throughout the country.
We have excellent telephone, cell phone and fax service available in all towns in Bhutan and easy to get connection with outside countries. Internet cafes are available only in a few places outside of Thimphu. If your cell phone is GSM unlock then you should be able to use your phone in Bhutan. |
