Travelers are advised not to distribute pens, pencils, chocolates, etc., to children or to monks. That is frowned upon in Bhutanese culture. :: time Bhutan standard time (BST) is six hours ahead of GMT, and there is only one zone throughout the country. :: communication We have excellent telephone, cell phone and fax service available in all towns in Bhutan and easy to get connection with outside countries. Internet cafes are available only in a few places outside of Thimphu. If your cell phone is GSM unlock then you should be able to use your phone in Bhutan.
